Organise this

Paul is organised.

That’s a sentence that does not appear on my CV.
I can keep on top of things, but I get easily distracted. Today I should of done a lot of chores / tasks, but did very little.

Does that make me lazy?

I need tips on being organised…

Running late?

Posted by clokey2k @ 9:37 pm

My girlfriend and I noticed today that everyone else is allowed to be late. We found this out whilst calling to advise our lateness to an appointment.

We were told “We’ll note it on the appointment and he’ll decide if he can still see you”

This is in an establishment that is renowned for being significantly late on appointments, without any explanation. This, however, makes no difference to them and are willing to sacrifice an appointment.

This also happens elsewhere. Things have changed but at one point you had to wait up to 28 days for delivery on many mail order items, but you have to pay straight away. If the item was later than 28 days, you just had to wait longer or kick up such a fuss that you would get 0.001% off of your next purchase - but if you paid late, you would probably see 3 letters chasing you for payment and pursuing legal action.

And again if you are 5 minutes late for work, or returning from a lunch break you’ll get the third degree from your manager - yet you could be waiting for a year for your ‘monthly’ appraisal.

Anyone else got some examples of where the ‘waiting’  priorities change depending on your perspectives??

No Tea and Coffee making facilities

Posted by clokey2k June 3, 2009 @ 7:50 pm

So I find myself writing a post whilst in my hotel room in London. A two day training course takes me away from my normal home, and away from my girlfriend :-(

While I am here I decided to take a trip down Baker Street and look at all of the lovely restaurants. I then made my selection and walked out with a Big Tasty (oh yes, McDonalds).

But back on topic…

MY HOTEL ROOM HAS NO KETTLE!!!

  • No Tea
  • No Coffee
  • No little biscuit packet
  • No annoying little UHT milk cartons

In short, I am not happy!!

It’s strange because when I am home I may drink 1-2 cups of tea in a month. But a hotel room needs Tea and Coffee making facilities.

[This also makes reference to Bill Bailey's DVD back story of hotel locations - although I haven't video'd it]

New terminology: “Facebook Lag”

Posted by clokey2k April 17, 2009 @ 9:00 am

Facebook Lag is the amount of time it takes for an event that happens in real life to appear on facebook. Some items can take days to appear (like me adding photos from day’s out), and others happen before the event actually occurs (Being dumped by facebook status must be harsh).
